Steamy Pecan Pie Bars (Lower Carb)
These steamy pecan pie bars are a lower carb dessert option- they can be served warm with Mason Jar Ice Cream or as a room temperature teatime treat!
Ingredients
The Crust
1 Egg, Small Free Range
¼ cup Softened Butter
½ tsp Baking Powder
½ cup Almond Flour (Process As Fine As Possible)
¼ cup Coconut Flour
½ tsp Vanilla Essence
The Filling
1 ½ cups Pecan Nuts, Halved
2 Eggs, Free Range, Beaten
⅔ cup Honey Or Maple Syrup
2 ½ cups Butter, Melted and Cooled to Room Temperature
Pinch Of Himalayan Rock Salt

The Crust

Mix all together

Line a small, baking dish with greased parchment paper. The smaller the dish, the thicker your squares will be. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides.
The Filling

Pour the batter into the crust and bake at 180 Degrees Celsius for 45 minutes to one hour, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set but still moist.

Remove from the oven, slice into squares and serve warm with Mason Jar Ice Cream.

The squares can be cooled and stored, eaten cold or reheated again.
