Do you have enough testosterone?

Are you simply not feeling yourself? Not feeling on form?  Not sure why? Low energy, low mood, weaker than usual, irritable and difficulty concentrating? So many of us are struggling with this and we’re spending hundreds of rands trying to get to the bottom of an ever-increasing sense of lethargy and below-par existence. One thing I have learnt over the years with hundreds of clients is the powerful impact that hormones have on our physical, emotional and mental well-being. So, have you had your hormones checked?

The Manning up?

Let’s Segway to focusing on the men for a bit. Just not performing like you use to? Maybe you need to go a little deeper than just manning up. Men, testosterone maintains your:

  • Bone density
  • Fat distribution
  • Muscle strength and mass
  • Facial and body hair
  • Red blood cell production
  • Sex drive
  • Sperm production

And balanced hormones are tantamount to a balanced being.

Did you know that if you’re a man and above the age of 40, odds are you are testosterone deficient. Scary? Maybe.

But maybe not.

There really is hope and a light at the end of that tunnel. Men are able to optimise their testosterone naturally, so there’s no need to hit the Roids; keep it straight up and legal.
Your testosterone levels can be managed. Naturally.

The 3 stooges

Research has shown over and over again that there are three primary culprits in disrupting hormone balance, namely:

  1. Sleeping patterns
  2. Diet
  3. Inflammatory factors

If you can control these, it’s the first big step to keeping those testosterone levels normal, and these are easier to control than you may at first think.

Ear Mark the Biggies

  1. Reducing body fat is a biggie. If your body fat % is over 20% (as a man) you’ll have symptoms of lower testosterone, especially if most of that mass is gathered around your belly.
  2. Getting enough quality sleep is another biggie. Men who sleep five hours a night have significantly smaller testicles than those who sleep seven or more, and will have a level of testosterone which is that of someone ten years their senior.

Testosterone affects your mindset and your mood and your levels are incredibly important to thriving.

In a stress filled world, optimal testosterone levels help you:

  • Cope,
  • Improve cognition and mood,
  • Create chiselled features,
  • Impact your basal metabolic rate,
  • Up your physical attraction (women can smell testosterone levels).

So now what?

I’d love to share these simple action steps with you:
